Chris Brown and Rihanna sent fans into a tizzy yesterday by reuniting for not just one, but two remixes, Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" and Chris' "Turn Up The Music."

The once-flames shared their tracks via Twitter and quickly became a US trending topic. Rihanna tweeted about the bouncy "Turn Up The Music", "chrisbrown Turn up the music remix RihannaNavy Teambreezyenjoy!!! vimeo.com/mechanicaldumm…" which Chris ReTweeted. The joint hashtags of RihannaNavy and TeamBreezy seems especially significant, bringing all of their fans together.

Rihanna, Chris Brown Reunite, Musically

After days of speculation, Rihanna and Chris Brown have released two songs together. Brown has added his own verse to Rihanna’s Birthday Cake off her most recent album, Talk That Talk. Brown’s verse begins with the lines “Girl I wanna f*** you right now. Been a long time, I’ve been missing your body”, matching Rihanna’s overtly sexuality lyrics. Brown’s Turn Up The Music is a much more radio-friendly track, with Rihanna ending the song giggling “Oh no, you made me laugh.”

But really, the actual songs the two artists have released together don’t matter nearly as much as the fact that they are working together. Team Breezy is likely rejoicing, but I think the Rihanna Navy lost a few soldiers today. SMH.

News of this new remix for "Turn Up The Music" is a bit of a surprise as there has been much prior speculation as to whether the former paramours would work together on the "Birthday Cake Remix". The furor began last week, when the production duo Da Internz told MTV News that their upcoming remix of Rihanna's "Birthday Cake" would feature a super-secret cameo that would "shock the world." 

Nearly three years after Chris assaulted Rihanna, rumors have abounded that the controversial couple was making more than just sweet music together. Many sources have cited that despite Chris' longtime relationship with girlfriend Karrueche, he and Rihanna had been secretly seeing each other. "Rihanna loves to live dangerously," said one source "And talking to and hooking up with Chris is all part of that." Chris shared this sentiment today on Twitter which seems to speak to the importance of the union, "The pub and excitement of this industry /society is only a surface! Really want us as a human race to unite! Bigger than music!"
